LAKE WORTH, Fla. — Authorities say several homes were evacuated and a man was arrested after a sheriff's deputy found an arsenal of weapons, ammunition and grenades inside a man's home.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says a deputy was doing a welfare check
at a Lake Worth home Wednesday evening when he found the weapons inside a locked gun cabinet. Police say two boys, ages 7 and 1, were inside.

The bomb squad and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were called in soon after.

Forty-four-year-old Robert Thompson Scott was arrested on a charge of corruption by threat on a law enforcement officer. Police say he had threatened to kill the deputy and others at the scene.

Authorities were still removing items from the home early Thursday morning.

Apparently. Now, were these paperweights, or live grenades? Some other reason, maybe, they wanted to bury this guy?

I'm going with paperweights since it mentions no charges against him for them.

It doesn't say if he threatened the police before or after they searched the place. Then again the police could just be saying that in order to make it look clean.
