Police Say Wife Accidentally Shot Husband

A Savannah man had to be rushed to the hospital after his wife accidentally shot him. It happened around 1pm at the corner of 32nd Street and Live Oak Street. Savannah Chatham Police said Robin Turner was actually aiming for the man who hit her car.

Officers said Kelvin Biggins ran a stop sign on Live Oak, hit another man's car and then crashed into two unattended cars in front of the Turner's house. He reportedly ran off when Turner's husband, Barry Turner, ran out of the house, followed by his wife with a gun. Mrs. Turner fired two shots as her husband ran after Biggins. One of those shots hit her husband in the side. Barry Turner is expected to recover. He's in stable condition at Memorial Health University.

Police say around an hour and a half after the incident, Biggins arrived at police headquarters to report his side of the story. He was charged with running a stop sign. The driver of the other car, Shanta Mutcherson, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.

Police say more charges are pending.
