What kind of engine are they running? Do they have the V8 SS motor but just with the base trim? i can see they have dual exhaust outlets but that could be the same for the v6 LTZ model.

also, how much hp are they pushing?

    It's a v6, 233hp, 9 second 0-60, 124mph top speed. 3450lb curb weight

quick google search turned up that info, but not much else about them.

police cars are usually pretty slow...that's why you hear them floor it all the time, if they don't, well, they barely move :o

There aren't many Chargers around here, but I did almost get pulled over by one the other day; came from out of nowhere and stayed on my ass for a mile and a half :eek3:

We have Expeditions and Impalas here. The Impalas aren't anything fast. DPS has some Tahoes and Crown Vics still ...

I work on/drive the police crown vics almost daily, they have pretty good get up and go, and will easily pull over 100

So will my 3.0l Ford Vulcan in a 3600lb pickup with 32" tires and over 1' of ground clearance.

Crown vics are slow as fuck. When you see a high speed chase, they aren't falling back because it's safer. They fall back because the chopper is all that can keep up with any decently quick car. But it could be worse for police. In some places police cars look like this: [IMG]

    :hsugh:

Since they sell them for a dime a dozen after they're decommissioned I've known several people who have picked them up when in need of a vehicle for cheap.

The motor is exactly the same as a normal Crown Vic except for a different air box. Ford limits the cars to 120mph IIRC because after that, the drive line starts to shake itself apart.

So basically, on a high way there is a long list of cars that will outrun a crown vic/police interceptor and anywhere else the list is only slightly shorter.

When you floor a Crown Vic, there's no traction.
