Some of my images with my pocketwizards @ 1/250 are showing some significant banding.
Any ideas why?
first thing i would check are the PW batteries and if they need a recharge.
Banding or black edges. Two completely different things.
I would check the sync speed of your camera. If you are shooting a 5d, then the max sync is 1/200.
yep, 5d2 only syncs to 1/200
I get the same thing sometimes at 1/200th... random pics, not all the time.
full frame cams are awful for that
Yeah, definite banding.
That would explain it! Thanks!
D70 no lines at 1/1000
subtle ironic bragging post
ccd + leaf shutter cams ftw for shooting on strobes!
really? on pocketwizards?
I think Girth is Nikon.. so there's no new PW yet to let us shoot faster
Im'a bring my blad out
but 1/200 should be well within sync speed on the pw plus 2 with a d700
still fucks up sometimes.. not a consistent thing though.
Imma bring my 1D mark 1 out
thats why i own one. i just wish teh screen were bigger and i could reverse the EC dial
ya, but its not a consistent thing... it only does it randomly. I've even had it do it at 1/250th, which made me look at my shutter just to be sure.
At least you can zoom in on the D70S
the 1D can't zoom in AT ALL, chimping is not an option
But luckily I guess, all shots are shot no wider than f/4 and the 1d focus system is great so its not as bad i guess.
I have 4 D70's just in case the new PW never come out
I'm going to play w/ tits' TTL PW on his camera to determine if I even want it when it comes out for Nikon. I'm ok sticking to the Plus IIs I already have, but I'm always willing to try new things.
you want me to put the wine in which one of your holes...?
I better start building my 1D army!
But even with the new PWs I would think itd be difficult to run your remotes with them because the distance for them is only like 30 feet from what I have heard. Wouldn't that kind of range make it difficult/impossible for some of your remotes?
I thought that was just a canon problem, and just a problem with a small percentage of the PW's? I would assume they have range similar to old ones, sure fucking hope so.
I hope so, but from what I heard, you gotta hard wire and have the reciever at ice level and only 25-30 feet from your shooting position
does shooting at 1/1,000 on your d70s mean you only catch half the flash power from your b1600s? Becuase the flash duration is 1/600 but you're shutter is only open for roughly half that
