I know its out there but im not finding it in my searches. I need a plug in for safari that will display .pdf files in the browser and/or automatically open preview to view them. I get a pop up that asks me which program i'd like to use to open the .pdf but preview is never an option. And I've never trusted Adobe Acrobat Reader so thats not an option.

Mine opens PDF files in the browser using preview.
Try urban ape's suggestion. You may need safari V2, which comes with 10.4.

Maybe google why your safari isnt working before installing 3rd party plugins.
