So I finally gave in and downloaded the malicious realplayer software. After the installation saw that it had stolen the "default application" status for every media file on my computer. Not such a big deal, but when I returned wmv to windows media player, some kind of hiccup remained.

Now, when I click .wmv links, a dialogue box opens and the entire file downloads before the video starts playing. Before this ordeal, WMV files would open immediately and stream as they download. What gives? How do I return this back to normal?
