I know they aren't the best shots in the world, that's why I'm turning toward the more knowledgable people on OT to help me improve on some of these shots.

I know that with a little creativity and photoshop I could make these pics look nicer, but I'm wanting to eliminate some of the photoshop work for a better pic.

Here's what I did to a couple of the pics in photoshop to try and help them.

So, what could I do to improve on these shots? Composition, lighting, everything?

I like the poolball one, its a cool idea. I also like the photoshopped one of the dam. I like the one with the edge of the roof better before you ps'd it when you could see the trees, it looked more "evil" to me.

I'm still pretty new to photography, but I would have framed the billiard ball shot differently, I would have put the whole ball in the bottom right corner of the shot. The bridge/dam, I would have done a pretty slow shutter, but I do like how you've composed it for the most part.. could only use a small amount of improvement in the composition IMO. The window shot is weird, I didnt like it last night - well I still dont like the orignal shot - for some reason the photoshoped one is easier on the eye and less awkward to look at, but I dont really know why. I hope that helps you in some way, it sure isnt the opinion of a pro by any means though :hs:

I dont like using PS either :hs: I like to get a good photo purely with the camera.

But its hard to compete with the impressive results of editing

Very true, I think photoshopping the dam pic helped it 100x over though.

Yep, Comcast only allows so many megabytes, so I took them down.

    These replaced them.
