was in Cabo for a while. canon xti. most taken with the kit lens, some with the 50mm. some slight post processing in Lightroom, but I dont' know how to use the program, so I didn't do much.

feel free to be a dick. I dig constructive criticism. I have no idea what i'm doing.

    1. I know this one is a bit dark & gray, but the moon was coming up, and I thought the composition of us being at dinner watching these guys finish up their round was pretty cool.

    2. water, desert, water.

    3. Looks a bit blurry for some reason.

  2. #1 - I wish I could hit a few at that that green! Place looks beautiful.

#2 - At first glance I got confused. I thought it was 2 different photos accidentally blended together.

    #4 - I think you did too

#2 ... the pool was an infiniti-edge with two 'levels' ... that's why it looks a bit odd.

A lot of them seem underexposed, I really like 5 and 3 though.

interesting. i knocked down the exposure -1/3 to account for the bright sun (in the daylight shots). should i not have done that?

some of them look like more than -1/3.. but yes you should have, it makes for better colours and can preserve highlights. You should now bump up the exposure when you post process.

You said be a dick so... most of them are boring and the compositions need to be worked on. The lighting in the last one is awful, it draws too much attention to the guy's nose. If you could have used side lighting it would have been much more appealing to the eye. The baby is cute though!

as far as number 6 goes.. shooting portraits in full sunlight leaves a really high contrast range in the image, usally with deep shadows.

The simple solution? Turn on the on camera flash and use it as a fill flash.
