Thanks to everyone for giving me pointers, advice and other OT flavors while I try to attempt post processing for my images.

    Cliffs:
I am lazy and go from card to flickr.
Now I want to try to experiment with PP.

    This is my latest attempt.

    Let me have it.

    What would you have done?

    Why?

What concepts am I missing or doing wrong?

Yeah unfortunatly it is hard to go back across the world to retake the picture :-( But thanks for that, I will remember that next time I am trying to shoot something similar. I think the reason for it in that picture was there was a stool on the floor with booklettes on it, or I was trying to use the electrical power tubes as a framing method but because I could not go back more and did not have a wider angle lense I couldnt actually get them strait.

Composition could've been better here, something to make the doorway more interesting. Make the viewer want to see what's in there. This photo has you looking up at the wiring along the wall.

Do you think cropping the rest of the wire out would help?

    I don't, I think it's just a boring picture.

    No.

I think you should go back and take it where you can at least see the bottom of the door. It's sort of like cutting off someones feet in a pic.
