A&P Playing with macro lense

    So i got my hands on a macro lense for an afternoon yesterday... i wasn't really that excited as its not really my thing to shoot flowers but was fun to shoot this light... thing... :hsugh:

    Whats your ISO setting? They look grainy as hell.

    hmmm i don't know... which iso setting makes them less grainy?

    lower iso = less noise.

    ok i just read about ISO settings :hsugh: I had the camera on auto before but i turned it off and it was on 1600 for these photos

    so i'm a stupid newb to this

    if high = noise, what's the point of a high ISO setting?

    means you don't need such a long exposure?

    High ISO is for shooting in dark conditions where you don't have the assistance of a tripod.

    Like say shooting at a concert - no way can you pull off an ISO 100 and get any kind of shot b/c it's too dark, which means you have to have a big f/stop and really drag the shutter speed. But the longer you drag, the higher the chances of a blurry shot. At a conert @ ISO100, you're looking at hand-holding atleast a 1 sec shot.
