I have a movie file in .avi type. I have tried to convert it to a dvd about 9 times. Each time the dvd player says "Playing dvd prohibited due to area limits". I have no idea why.

I have tried using dvd region killer, dvd shrink, everything i could possible think of, yet it just wont work!

What I do is use winavi and convert the .avi to dvd files. I have tried using nero, dvd shrink with region killer, and 1 click dvd copy to burn it to DVD and it wont work.

    Any advice :dunno:

are you sure its not recorded in PAL format? I've done that. I use Nero to burn DVDs and I accidentally had it set to automatically burn int he same format as the video file. WHen I downloaded the first season of Dr. Who, I couldn't play it in my DVD player.
