Well yeah! Because in real life she doesn't look like a fucking weird jaw alien with overdone eyes and an artificially lengthened neck.

does anyone here really think that ANY photo in ANY mag. hasn't been edited by at least 3 different photoshop professionals?

    Seriously...

    oh....

well, I can't vouch for their quality, but for every 'glamour' cover, the shot hits at least 3 different photoshop pro's desks who edit the balls out of it.

In the class I had that taught this stuff, one major example we had was a 38 layer image of eva longoria that literally touched EVERY INCH of her body.

    It was insane.

I think shopping to that extent is just as bad as what Dave Hill does and the desire for "perfect" doesn't really come from regular guys. Of all the guys I've talked to none have said they like the heavy airbrushed look, sure, remove pimples around the coose, but I like a girl to actually have knees.

I agree with what you're saying, but apparently that is not acceptable to the general public.

for what it's worth, there were layers dedicated to REMOVING MUSCLE TONE from Eva because she was too physically fit and had things like veins and muscles... :ugh:

From what i've seen after taking this class and looking at magazine covers, this is standard practice.

    knees need not apply.

I tend not to look at playboy, I know how fake it is now w/ photoshop etc. But I would still hit it also lol.

    Yeah, it is.

Met is Met-Art, it's a porn site with mostly softcore photo sets of skinny euro chicks. Welcome to the internet.

    Yeah. :(

I think it could just be artificial expectations, like high fashion models, most guys don't actually think they're hot, but the expectation, created over time by a minority of important people who prefer them, creates their necessity. I think at some point some douchebag took a normal retouching session too far and then everyone started doing it. People went ape over the photo of Carmen Electra without makeup and heavy retouching.

I can imagine some business meeting at Playboy where out of touch old guys in suits, or worse, college created marketing noobs in abercrombie and fitch, sit around talking about how guys like flawless women and how the presence of a knee in the last issue was an outrage...

In the May/June '08 issue of PICTURE, Arny Freytag did an interview. He said that they NEVER do any photo shopping of the images. And they are all shot as is.
