I'm planning on migrating from Army to intelligence work for a certain organisation :hsugh: and wondering which language would be the greatest asset. Russian seems very interesting and somewhat useful, but would it be better to learn Arab, if so, which dialect?

What do you all think? :x:

    Persian.

We won't invade, but I can see a lot of active intel since the government isn't supported by the people, and we have a vested interest in making sure that the transition happens in a peaceful manner (that's what most Iranians want as well, they want a revolution by ballot).

I'm guessing a lot of human intelligence watching to make sure certain weapons stay locked up and don't get reappropriated during the changes that are going to happen in Iran over the next ten years.

edit: Persian is also known as Farsi

edit2: Probably also a ton of open source intel involving Farsi/Persian since they have the 3rd largest blogging community on the intrawebs.

Mandarin, then when you get out you can make tons of money translating for US and Chinese companies.

China is the biggest threat to our national security and economy so learn Mandarian. They have spied on us more often and heavier than Russia and other countries.

    Take my word.

You made it up. I am sure they use analysts who are fluent in a specific language besides English and French for intelligence purposes.
