Its a fucking pizza hut job, although it might hurt your future applications saying you were fired for shooting a gun in the workplace :mamoru:

well, he complied, then ran after them, opened the door and shot at them as they fled...

That doesn't seem like the best series of events to me.

If that's what happened then he deserves what happened. If the thread leaves the scene, lock the doors, call the cops, and fucking hide your ass. :o

From what it sounds like from the video, they still threatened to kill them right before they left :dunno:

Then why move towards them and open the door? I would be moving away from them.

Me having such a shitty job and having my life threatened might push me over the edge too.

That's no longer standing your ground, because they had left.

They were still close enough to get shot.

It works better when you shoot the robbers when they are robbing you instead of when they are running away, it helps out a little more in court when the robbers families are sueing you.

Gray area for sure. On the one hand, if they were leaving and he ran after them, then :nono: . If on the other hand, they were backing away while pointing at him, then running up the door and shooting might not be the best idea either.

Either way, he's lucky that he's in Florida because a lot of other states might bust his ass for it.

Even if I were carrying at a retail job (which I hope I never have a retail job again) I'd let them walk away with everything in the store before I acted with lethal force. If someone's life is at stake that's one thing, but if they're just there for property (particularly when it isn't MY property) they can have it.
