Anybody ever used them? do they actually do any harm to anything at all? The only thing I was planning on shooting with them would be tarantulas and shit just for fun, since I imagine that's about all that they'd be able to take out.

    TARANTULAS!!!! :eek3: Fuck that.

Oh, but to answer your question, yes, I have. I've got some for my P22, and some for my G23. Never really messed with them a whole lot. Just shot a target or two just to see how they pattern. Never shot at a living target, though.

Oh, and I've use .22 Ratshot before. Good for snakes/small animals at close range.

my buddy who shoots high power rifle was telling me about how they shoot the shotshells out of their 1911's when they are working the pits. Do stupid stuff like shoot soda cans out of the air, etc.

I don't know I can't imagine it's good for the rifling of your barrel.

often called snakeshot, works fine short distance pest control. Taurus makes pistol that shoots .45 colt and .410 shotgun shells.

I had some called Snakecharmers in .38 and .410 a while back. Fire them out of a .357 and a single shot .410.

They don't do much past 15 feet or so, but are effective on birds, snakes, etc.

My neighbor was telling me he uses them to kill moles. When he sees a pile start to build up (actively digging under it), he uses the 22lr shot shells at near point blank. I haven't seen him do it yet, but I did load some into my 10/22 just in case I see any piles growing. Those little fuckers are really doing a number on my yard.

I'm moving to AZ soon, I hear it's not terrible there, but my brother tells me the bugs are a bit bigger than what we get here in MA. Not that I'd actually be able to shoot anything the the middle of Phoenix. I imagine most pest control will be done with a grill lighter and a can of WD-40 for now.
