If I were to enlist in either the AF or Army (as I don't have a college degree), is there any way I may be able to enter as a pilot if I were to enlist, already having a private pilot's license in either fixed-wing or heli? Or are pilots EXCLUSIVELY officers?

Would already having a pilot's license change anything for me?

Pilot's are officers/warrant officers. Haven't been enlisted pilots since WWII, IIRC.

NOPE! only way u can be a pilot without a degree is through the army warrent officer program. even then i think u need some college credit(19+ i think) or 5yrs in service to apply for WOCS.

You can become a Army Warrant Officer Aviator straight out of high school. For street to seat applicants, as with any applicant, college is a bonus but not mandatory, and there is no service requirement to apply for the Warrant Officer Aviator program.

It happens occasionally when they are short pilots. Having a private license makes the board look much more favorably on you because they know you can fly, but it also makes them curious if you can fly the army way.

Now when someone asks a question why do you feel it necessary to respond with your guess of an answer. There are a few pilots around here, who might actually know what they are talking about.

yup, only Army was flying WO's. There's this female pilot at my old air guard unit, a lot of the pilots didn't like her. Often times she flew like she was flying a commercial liner. She got so much shit for that. She was always bringing up shit like, "Well at Southwest we do this, or we do that".

Like Burton said, just because you can fly a plane, doesn't mean you can fly the military way.
