A&P Pictures of bars are so... uninteresting

Discussion in 'Lifestyle' started by coughlin's law, Apr 9, 2010.

  1. I snapped some photos of a bar for a local magazine, and there was really nothing cool to take photos of... how do you get people interested in a bar, by a photo?

    Anywho, here's a pic;

    how about showing people having a good time, as opposed to the place looking like it's about to close.

  3. Problem is, someone just reviews the bars and cocktails, not the people that go there.

    problem is that that isnt a particularly interesting looking bar. Some of the clubs and stuff have some nice spaces and look good empty. I think you got a decent photo based on what you were dealing with!

    I mean those will do just fine. Get the normal wide angle shots out of the way then do some different angles to spice it up. But really nothing to sweat over, this is probably exactly what the client wanted?

    I think they're fine. They look just a tad dark, but I can understand if you didn't want to blow out the highlights. Plus bars are supposed to be dark anyway.

    Thats great if you're looking for art, but if you're trying to show off the restaurant then it does nothing. I dont know of any restaurant that would use a photo like that in a brochure or ad because it doesnt show anything and could have been taken anywhere.

    At least rack the balls and put some cuesticks on the table to be more inviting. :mamoru:

    But looks good. Bar looks CLEAN!

    doesn't mean that there shouldn't be pics of people having a good time in there.

    :werd: especially if they are going in a brochure so you can show the type of clientele the bar is hoping to attract. I know personally if I am googling a new place that is one of the things is who is in the pictures.
