I'm a civil engineer working on a wind farm project in Burney, CA (45 miles East of Redding).

I'm supposed to take pictures of weather related issues, but i get bored sometimes and try to get "creative." Here are my favorites.

Everything was shot with either my Rebel XT kit lens, 50 f1.8, or 70-200 f4.

That's sick. Looks like the trenches from WWI in fog/smoke and then you see the workman

In a way, these shots reminded of something from Boston.com's photo section.

    Great work!

7 is awesome I'd change up the crop a bit though.

none of these have been cropped or edited at all, but i'm not sure how i would crop #7... maybe a little off the top and bottom?

While I wouldn't crop it myself; my eyeball, if having to make the choice of cropping any vertical off, I'd go for cutting out the lower portion, to the point of just below the structure to the right underneath the / / / sign thingymabob; leaving the fading trees in entirely...but, it's all subjective.

I'd crop a bit off the bottom to lose that red lens flare (?) and crop using the rule of thirds. That will make the workman look a lot more lonely within the shot, which to me seems to be the mood of it.

6,7,9,10,11 are my favorites. The last few could be better w/some creative cropping.

#7 excellent, crop it though so the guy walking is not centered.

It's called a cad weld... it bonds two copper wires together. You can only really see one of the wires in the picture, but there is another that runs perpendicular to it.

I actually had a picture where he was about a third of the way across the frame, but I deleted it for whatever reason. :wtc:

I must have liked the centered version better.
