Last Saturday GeorgiaCarry.Org (GCO) held its 2007 Fall Luncheon. The Luncheon was held at the Charlie Elliot Wildlife Center near Covington, GA. We had two great speakers, Rep. Tim Bearden of the 68th district and Doug King (you may know him as “DKing” on arfcom), a criminal defense attorney from Marietta.

Rep. Bearden spoke about some exciting news for gun owners in GA in the upcoming legislative session. Mr. King spoke about self defense and the law in GA. Both were outstanding speakers.

After lunch, we all went out to the range for some recreational shooting and a turkey shoot.

Here are pictures from the luncheon: http://s168.photobucket.com/albums/u194/adam5_album/GCO111707/?action=view&current=981265b7.pbw

And some pictures from the range: http://s168.photobucket.com/albums/u194/adam5_album/GCO111707/?action=view&current=057b7022.pbw

A good time was had by all.

I live not too far from CE, but I they still disallow NFA items there. Perfectly legal-to-own firearms cannot be fired there. Ridiculous.

...or carried outside of the range.

    Ridiculous.

Some NFA items were in use though, suppressors, specifically.

I would consider going to some of the GCO stuff if I didn't have to drive to the other side of ATL Metro....

I drove from Acworth. Some other Acworth-area members are trying to get a group to go shooting in Adairsville on 12/1 if you'd like to go.

The Summer Lunch was in Marietta.

Anyway, it's still important to join and get active. There's a LOT more going on than quarterly lunch meetings.

I shoot for free (membership) at www.CreeksideFiringRange.com in Cartersville. I met a GCO member or two over there two weeks ago. His name was M249, and I forgot the other guy's name....

I still need to get up to Creekside. I've heard it's really nice.

If you wish to meetup, I should be there this coming Saturday and/or SUnday. I can get you in free since I am a member and know the owner pretty well.... They have pistol lanes all the way up to 300 yard rifle lanes.

300 yard lanes are for scoped rifles.

So, you can't fire unscoped rifles at 300 yards? That's fucking ridiculous. What else can't you do at a place where YOU pay to shoot there? Can you use suppressors?
