So most of you know that I'm a noob when it comes to photography. That's why I'm looking here for suggestions. I've got a friend who needs head shots for when he auditions for schools or venues. He asked me to take some pictures for him so I could practice. He said that he isn't expecting them to be absolutely perfect, but something that he could use. So if you were doing something like this, what would you do? Background? Lighting? Positioning? I'll be using a 50mm 1.8 for the lens. I think natural lighting will be best because I don't have a great flash, and I bought some lights from Lowe's, but I don't have a diffuser for them right now, so the lights would be too harsh. Any recommendations will be helpful. Thanks.

if you can get a reflector to help with natural lighting, do it. even if its a piece of poster board or something white that can reflect some light, it will help.
