Here is a picture I took just fucking around from 2103ft (0.4miles) away from the lake. Here is the google map to prove it.

    This was with a D70 + 2x Kenko + Sigma 70-300APO Super Macro II.

The setup comes out to 900 and is useless...but kinda fun to fuck around with. I want to get a nice sunny day and take some pictures of traffic on the highway and see if I can see inside someones car.

    300mm + 2x TC = 900mm?

    300 * 2x = 600 * 1.5 (nikon crop) = 900mm

Sorry you fucking nazi.... The setup is effectivly 900mm. But you are right...all glass adds up to 600mm.

I can't remember if it was a tripod...I think so. The Sigma is kinda soft and very slow anyway so with the 2x teleconverter it crosses over into the useless territory. But still fun to play with...

    I'm always right.
It is 600mm, nothing less, nothing more.
Its field of view is that of a 900mm lens though.

    PS
Not really sharp either, but it is a 2x TC.

Here's a 100% crop from the 50-500mm Sigma, with two 1.4x teleconverters, and two 2x teleconverters.
    Effective focal length: 392-3,920mm (627-6,272mm 35mm equivalent) f/32-49

Yeah...I don't know if it was handheld or not. It was in the middle of the day so 1600 and handheld I am guessing

Middle of day, and 600mm requires like a 1/600th of a second shutter.
ISO1600 shouldn't be necessary for that.
