I'm running Sony ES gear. But I'm very happy with my JBL L5 speakers.
When I'm playing a good cd, I still blush when I hear them. And I've owned them since the early 90's.....

    I bet that sounds good!
I'll always be a fan of quality 15 inch subs with clean power on them

It's all good. No neat police here. Just show off your cool equipment.
WOW, I haven't seen a Nakamichi reciever in ages! Cool!

I hope to upgrade to an old school Harmon or NAD recoever soon, that will do my L5's justice.

How do you like the Oppo. I am torn between the 980, and the 981.

Its ok, not sure its worth the money to me. The picture is great, no problems with that at all. The blue led's are annoying to me even on low settings, occasionally I have to push the eject button twice to get it to open. I also know a amp engineer at QSC who has modded his, audio side of it, because he said the audio layout is complete crap. It is better than my previous CD player but I don't have a high end one to compare to but currently it is good enough for me.

If I was buying again, I'd get the 980, but then I'm also running a college budget. I'm not serious enough to justify the jump to the 981 I don't think. Now I have never seen a 980 but judging from the 981 it is still a pretty damn good player.

I'll get an updated pic taken at some point here, but there are my sequential-serial'd 1981 Klipsch KG-2s, Custom M&K V-2B Servo 12 and Onkyo A-RV401. Also have ALR-Jordan Entry-S Micro-sats on a 1978 Onkyo A-5 and Modded Senn HD-580s on a custom Multiloop.

Thanks. Looks like I might go with the 980. I like the usb option, as that is quick and easy, instead of burning stuff to a disc.

    Love my living room...

50" Samsung 1080i + Yamaha 5.1... nothing really super expensive or exciting, but I ran all the cables under the carpet, etc, and I'm the envy of most of my friends because of it.

Maybe I'm a little anal, but for me... I can't stand half-assing shit. :dunno:
