Gotta say everything is worth the price. The bag has more compartments then I know what to do with, and the same goes with the buttons on the mouse. The MacBook Pro is incredibly fast with aps and moves that are native to the new chipset, but any aps like the adobe suite and such all run slow... which is what I use all day long. Also, I started opening Word docs with Pages instead as it is way faster since it is native and Word isn't.

One of the best things is the screen. My girlfriend has PB 1.33 15" and my screen has the obvious higher res, but the screen is incredibly brighter. As bright and nice as the ACD like Apple claims? No. But I would have to say it is close. Now I just need some speakers for the thing when docked at the office.

    Anyways, on to pics:

macbook pro is nice but i must say Bo, being a graphic designer, thought you might have waited until the creative suite was released native, then bought the top of line model

i know im holding out for that same reason :wiggle:

I was going on a trip for the weekend and needed a laptop ASAP. So it was buy now, knowing that I'm stuck with it for years. Being that CS3 is rumored for the fall, I decided to just get the new chipped book and deal with it until then vs being happy for the first 6 months of owning a PowerBook and hating it when CS3 is released and runs like CS2 does now on Rosetta.

    Nice laptop...

What is the 80gig external for? Is there any reason you didn't go a bit bigger?
I'm assuming its firewire and 7200RPM, anything else about it thats special?

    thats at home :o

the Macbook pro is for on the go.

And, is it really that slow? A writer for macmerc.com or something like that said he traded in his recent G4 powerbook for a macbook pro, and he said Photoshop etc weren't any slower on the MBP over his Powerbook, do you see a significant speed decrease on the MBP?

Going from a PowerBook G4 to a MBP, it is a lil faster. But this one has 1G of ram and her PB has 256. Also, this processor is 4 times faster but moves Photoshop barely quicker. It's going home and working on my PowerMac and then trying it on my MBP that kills me.
