This is my first car to ever buy brand new. I ordered it exactly 6 weeks ago and finally got it. Its an 08 C6 2LT Z51 Vette. So far it has been absolutely amazing. Just have to get her broken in and then I will try to be as content with her as I can, but inevitably mods will happen.

I wasn't a very big fan of them either, but they do look a lot better in person. Doesn't matter, I am probably going to put some Z06 reps on them in Comp. Grey as my first "mod"

I find the screen name and the choice of conveyance to be highly ironic.

The car looks nice. Hopefully you won't get pulled over every ten feet.

I had a 1.8t many years ago which prompted my name. You think its out of place here, its the same on the Vette boards. They really get a kick out of it over there. "Dat thang gotta wut??? 4 cilinder?? Hahaha" etc

  9. Is this your first Vette?

Yes. Previous cars were an 06 GLI([email protected]), 340whp Evo([email protected]), 03 S2k([email protected]), a swapped and turbocharged Civic hatch(was a project, not a DD...went [email protected]), and an 01 1.8t Passat(made 185whp and 230wtq....went [email protected] Surprised a lot of people). Had a 01 CBR600F4i in the mix there for a bit as well, but couldn't handle all the sorority chicks almost running me over all the time while talking on their cell phones. The vette is fast, but it honestly doens't feel too much quicker than my Evo(the Evo's gearing made it feel faster than it was). I am going to take it to the track in 2 weeks and see what she can do.

cool car, dont drive it like an old woman :p

  15. I was just curious. I know you mentioned the Corvette boards on the net. Just be careful there. 80% of the people have no clue what they're talking about, 10% know just enough to screw shit up, and 10% know what they're doing.

And like "you know me" said, don't forget to wave!

You didn't happen to alway post threads about GT500's beating the shit out of new 08 vettes did you??? Because if you did that shit was fucking hilarious:rofl::rofl:. Those guys are so blindingly gullible. And yes, there are only a handful of people on those forums that are knowledgable. I do all my own work so don't worry, you not dealing with your typical vette driver and those "how do I change my oil" threads.

  22. Your first mod should be a proper set of tires. Then maybe a proper alignment. Those two things will bring you much closer to the real potential of the car than the runflats and the boring street alignment it comes with.

I am going to drop her down a tiny bit on the stock bolts and then get her re-aligned. As for the stock tires, they won't be replaced until I burn them off. I have no desire to throw them out just to replace them with better rubber. They are adequate until its time to find some new ones because they are worn.

Not out of place, just ironic, partly because I own a 1.8t right now and the Vette is the only American car I'd be at all interested in buying right now. Makes me wonder if there's a pattern to things, and all.

As for difficulty changing one's oil, I don't think anything can beat my Passat for that; I see at least a couple of threads a month over on PassatWorld with people saying they drained their oil but they can't add any more, and it inevitably turns out that they didn't realize they can't get to the oil drain plug without removing the bellypan first, and so they end up draining the transmission oil instead.
