    No nudes, sorry. :o

I spent a week down in Virginia Beach. $170/night condo for $45 the entire week. The town wasn't all that great, I liked Myrtle Beach much more. Once was enough.

    Critique away. :wiggle:

400D, 18-55 kit lens, minimal PP, all JPEG. I shot a few in RAW but I've never worked with them before so that's another project for another day.

^ I wanted to retake this one with the more distant light on the left hidden behind the tree but got lazy and never retook it. I only spent one good day taking pics, the rest was getting drunk. I mean come on, what's spring break for right? :bigthumb:

the only picture that seems good is the one from the water pump 9or whatever it is), but the colors are fade, the bokeh doesn't show anything (is there the ebach behind the rail?) and the bottom is cut out. Oh and also both the rail and the pump aren't straight!

the dog one is cool though!

and the second one, i would have positionned myself so the wave break would be between the two rails, not behind the bottom one.

The pump was sideways, and the picture was taken on an angle. The horizon is straight so it makes everything look off balance.

As for the second one, you're right. It's one of those "Oh man, I should have noticed that" shots.

As for focus, it's just the 3.5-5.6 18-55 so focus is meh. I'm getting a hell of a lot better than I was. This is only my second time out with the 400D that was dedicated to just taking pictures.

    Keep 'em comin'. :wavey:

Your image resizer has completely raped the quality of those pics.

I saved the originals, and then used an image resizer to make them 640x800. I figured even the pictures I cropped would still show up as 640x800 but I guess it uses some other mathematic formula to reduce it down by a portion, not to a size.

    What are you guys using?

I use photoshop, and after I resize, I ususally do a light sharpen for web. Post an original if you have the bandwidth, because these shots look really soft.

I'm in class right now (working  ) so I can't do it until later tonight. Which one would you want to see the most?

It's true that they look soft. I have that sunset picture as my background and it's crystal clear.

I can tell that resizing them murdered the quality. I used CS2 to edit them, and some cheap free Windows resizing tool.

Is that an okay route to go if I just sharpen the shrunken pictures in CS2?

If you got em open in CS2 why don't you just resize them there?

    IMAGE >> IMAGE SIZE...

There's even a "Save to Web" feature build right in there what will accomplish much better results then that Windows resizer.

Sharpening an already downgraded image isn't going to help you too much.

    It was cheap. :hsd:

Seriously, there was zero decent pussy there. It was either fat chicks, stuck-up girls who only wanted to be looked at, or hot chicks with super ugly boyfriends.

I never realized how badly that murders the quality. It's really evident in the color of the light at the top of the lighthouse.

As for boobies, see above response. :mamoru:

wow talk about a turn around. that old method was terrible for re-sizing. how'd you change the color on the lighthouse.

    contrast, levels and saturation?
