I was invited to a little gathering with a friend to do a suspension. I couldn't pass up the oppertunity so I called into work and made the trip.

This is my 3rd suspension and it went quite well. I was up for almost an hour before I decided to come down because of the pain from the 3rd hook (was set to deep).

Ask any questions you want, I'll answer as I see them.

Laying down and getting hooks put in.

Hooks in, if you look you can see the 3rd hook was set too deep. I felt it when he put it in and was quite the painful little thing the entire time.

I think I was up already in this pic, I'm not sure, the take off was quick so I'm not sure if any pics were taken.

Running while in the suspended in the air gets you no where ...

I was swinging pretty much the entire time, was lots of fun.

Taking a drink while up, it is a lot more difficult than it looks.

After being up for almost an hour coming back down and recompressing your spine is a every wierd feeling.

Thats about it, was quite fun. I would of stayed up longer if it wasn't for that 3rd hook but o well there is always next time.

I was the first to suspend, I have pics of my friend trying to suspend. She got through the hooks and to her tiptoes but couldn't get her feet off the ground. Maybe next time.

I'll got for 2 hours next time :x:

    That's fucking amazing!!!

I've been reading up a lot on suspension lately and would like to eventually try one in maybe a year or two. How did you get into it? What was your first experience like?

Does it hurt a lot to do?

First time was pretty crazy. I was at a tattoo convention infront of a crowd of a 100 or so people. It was a lot of fun but I was only up for 15 min before I just about passed out.

I had always wanted to do a suspension and my piercer at the time knew that so when he heard that they were looking for someone to suspend he talked to me right away and we went down there and I did it.

Pain is relative I guess. I don't think it hurts terribly bad but it's still painful. But for my friend she couldn't get off the ground cause she though it hurt to bad. If the hooks are set right its alot easier, the first time they were set low and I had problems being able to breath. The 2nd time it was 30 degrees outside so I went into shock and passed out right quick so I don't remember that one real well. This third one went really well cept for that one hook and even with that hook I was up for almost an hour. I'm pretty confident that if that hook wouldn't of been set so deep I could of stayed up much much longer if I had wanted to.

Respect. I'd love to try it someday but I don't know anyone around here that does it. I'm sure if I talk to my piercers they could clue me in tho.

I'm about 135-140 but practically anyone can suspend. If you poke around bmezine.com you will see people suspending in the 200+ range. Your skin is increadably strong, much stronger than most people give it credit. I've seen pictures of people doing single point chest and back suspensions that were probebly around 150-170. And when in doubt, use more hooks.

Do the hooks tend to leave scars?

Small ones, about the size as the 8 gauge needle that pieces it. Nothing real noticable once the healing is done.
