thats me in the front with the black cap.
so this is a sport that rich people play right?? kinda like mini yachting?
yes, its a sport that only schools with money can exploit...each boat costs $38,000, then theres likes 300 per oar, then u gotta pay coaches, traveling fees....etc.
not sure if you were aware, but rowing is probably the most intense sport out there. im sure theres many arguments, but no one can argue that you burn more calories in rowing than any other activity...its a fact.
i'm not doubting that, i was just being a little snooty
Do you practice at Walburg?
naw....lake newton, its like 5 miles past downtown....wauberg isn't big enough.
closeup pics of the woman?
lol....dont got any....she's called the COXWAIN.
Nice, how long have you been doing it? I hear it is a crazy workout, what changes in your body have you noticed since starting it?
i started at the beggining of fall......
hmm....well they say that rowing is 85% legs, 10% back, and 5% arms.
id def. say my legs are strong as hell now, theyre pretty solid, i hadnt leg pressed in like 3 months, and i went from 300lbs to 600lbs.
it really makes your back and chest wider, and your forearms get crazy big...got a bunch of new veins.
the workouts are vomit inducing pretty much. i mean, when coach says run 6 miles....we're fuckin happy. but i mean i cant really explaiin how difficult some of these workouts are unless you've been on a stationary rowing machine and have done a good workout. but most of the time when u get off those machines....first someone has to help you up because your legs are so shot, and then its up to you whether your gonna puke or not.
theres a workout called a 2k test....how fast you can row 2 kilometers....in terms of breathing and tiredness....picture yourself sprinting as hard as u can for 7minutes straight. but thats just the hear mucles....then theres the pain and the feeling of needles in your legs that just builds up, that u can really only experience in rowing.
sounds like fun
it sounds stupid to want to put yourself through this, but the races provide no bigger adrenaline rush....its intense...and when you finish, you have this urge to go straight to the boathouse to get better.
rowing looks like an awesome sport
man....dont even get me started.....its been the best decision ive ever made to join this sport....if guys got a team at ur school or in your community, you should check it out.
MTU had one, but practice was at 5:00 AM. I'm not waking up at 5:00 AM any day of the week, much less every day of the week IN COLLEGE.
yea...we're from 430-630pm
pics not loading
yeah we do that once a year in PE over here at my high school.
great, i was just starting to look around for information on rowing training. the sport has gotten my attention since I was looking for another alternative to running and swimming. i like how intense it is too. can you give me some info on how you train? like the sepcifics, from using the rowing machine to assistance training.
whats your 2k?
