My instructor is getting a website done, and I volunteered to do some photography for him.

These are straight off the camera with no noise reduction or color adjustment... I just thought the sequence was pretty cool:

i thought it was a judo place at first because of the dude in the green belt and the ippon seoi (or variant)

then i saw the black gi.
Nice pictures dude, 5 fps with the 20d FTW!

yeah... in judo people usually only wear white or blue. The 2 guys in green belts I think are wearing judo gis but the guy in black is wearing a bjj gi

    Minami-Ryu Ju Jitsu.

We do a lot of Judo type throws, Muay Thai bag work, BJJ ground stuff, and Japanese Ju Jitsu self defense work.

And one night a week, we do no-gi grappling, as well as boxing.

Our belts follow a typical Karate school color pattern. White, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, brown, black. I just got my yellow a couple weeks ago.

But I think it was more because my white belt was getting dirty instead of me actually learning something. :big grin:

if you shot everything in the same place, same lighting, may wanna just make a batch process to do all the color corrections.

    looks fun.

I'm going to do it tonight. I got home around 9:30, ate, and just picked this sequence out because it looked pretty good.

I shot 158 pictures last night.

I'll post up some more after I run them through photochop and make them look presentable. I've got some pretty good grappling shots.

    Here are a couple more:

The guy on his back in this photo falls for a collar choke every time he's in my guard, and then doesn't tap. He's almost gone to sleep once, and another time I let it go when his face started turning purple.
