I'm going to build a new system and I am having trouble picking out a case. Every time I find one I like I read bad comments about it and change my mind. What are some things I should look for when picking a case?

120mm fan in front of the drive cage, or a pair of 92mm fans.

    Do not accept anything less.

Also what are you looking to build. Do you need a huge case that will hold a shitload of drives, or do you want a tiny case that you can carry with one hand to lan parties?

No lan parties. I do want to get a good video card so I can run COD4. Other than that 1 or 2 hard drives and a DVD burner.

Consider the lengths of video cards when buying a case.

GT and GTS are around 9" long.
GTX are 10 to 11 inches long.

i really like antec cases. i have the a full tower and a midtower from them. they are all built outta steel and heavy but very sturdy. the full tower is a bit loud from 4x 80mm fans but the midtower is whisper quiet with 2 120s

    Same here.

I've got three of them, and they have great airflow through them.

werd, i got the same case just with a windowed access panel

it has an 80mm fan right infront of the 3.5 bays, and a 120mm in the rear, i'm actually gonna mount another 80mm in the front of two of the 5.25 bays

if you want something built well, skip any recent antec.

i was eyeballing the antec p180/182, but didn't want something that big. fry's had the antec solo for $30 shipped, so I jumped on that! good case. 2 x 92 in the front, 120 in the back. sound dampening on the sides. will need to mod the case to put in a gtx though.

    nice, clean, and sleek.

so far i have RAM and a case. need quite a bit more..

You know what though? I griped about my new Antec NSK6500
when I got it, because the metal's thinner than my old AMB3700 case.

But I've looked at Lian li's that are just as thin.

And the drive cage on the NSK6500 is a work of art.

Two 92mm fans in front of the drives ftw.
