picked it up today, looks real nice and is made with top notch parts (volquartsen). it's chambered in .17HM2 and will be my new squirrel, crow and gopher gun. i get to take it out to shoot tomorrow and i've got very high expectations

the stock is a bit uncomfortable for me so i might try to trade it out, but it's fully floated so it's nice.

What would you need to do to have a matching .22 barrel on it? Would it be a lot of work?

just buy the barrel and screw it on. for this one you'd need a new bolt since it's a Volquartsen .17HM2 bolt and not just a conversion.

i didn't like my AR that much. it was a 20" and i'd rather have a 16". the opportunity presented itself to get rid of my AR, get a cool gun and make a little cash so i took it. i can always build a 16" in the future and have the AR that i want.

probably cost around $600 to build a 10/22 like that, but then sells for $300-400 when someone needs cash...

I have about $450 in mine and don't plan on ever selling it ... it's a blast to shoot! It's built just like I want, but no where near as nice as Dsking's

Start with a walmart 10/22, get a custom stock (www.boydsgunstocks.com) and an ER Shaw barrel, some VQ trigger parts and a nice scope... buy a box of 500 .22LR's for $8 and go shootin'!

    WW special 10/22 rifle - $200
    Volquartsen .17HM2 Barrel with .17HM2 bolt - $400
    Volquartsen Barrel mount - $40
    Weaver V16 scope - $290
Premier II 3-way adjustable target stock - $200

you're telling me you couldnt think of another gun that you'd rather spend $1400 on? (not that you spent that much money building it)

Thanks. I mainly wanted something fun to shoot that's alot cheaper than my AR's.

    I can't see spending $1400 on a 10/22 ... wow
