    Oh Hiya!
Well second really, if you count the crappy SKS that I bought with friends just to shoot around.

But anyway, we went to Gander Mountain today to pick up targets for the SKS, and I saw the S&W MP15 for $800 after MIR. So, after literally spending 50 minutes trying to decide if I want to blow the cash on it, I decided to get it.

I also picked up a Bushnell Holo Sight for it. Fucking $250 though. :wtc:

    Here's a crappy picture:

One thing I don't get, is why there is rust on a little part of the gun, and why it looks like it's been used (theres a few scuffs, one big near the charging handle) so the paint is gone.

Should I take it back and show them the rust and scuff marks? I swear it's been used :o

Anything I should know about this model? Did I get ripped off on the bushnell holosight?

Where's the rust? The upper and lower receivers are aluminum. It has likely been test fired before it left the factory and the marks you're seeing are probably from that and I'm guessing maybe brass marks on the deflector.

spending 100 bucks for an eotech is a waste of 100 bucks unless you are going to be uding it for combat or swat work. Same unit except the eotech has a protective bar.

Nice rifle, I'd get some PMags ASAP, return that optic and get an aimpoint M2.

Bushnell works just fine, no need for an Eotech. Also these sights > aimpoint sight.

I handled both and I think the EOTech is a much better unit. My rifle has gotten knocked around a little bit, and I feel much more comfortable with the protection of the EOTech. I also like that mine runs on AA batteries where all the bushnells that I saw were N-batts (or maybe cr123?). Plus it does look better.

the mags are fine. I'd just recommend magpull 4-way anti-tilt followers. Pmags are good, too.

:werd: EOTech wins for most people's needs. Unless you need a year of continuous battery life, I prefer EOTech.

Have you used both? After owning both types I stuck with the Eotech as my favorite.

battery life only matters if you NEED to go a year without visiting the store.

durability on the eotech is supurb.

The AA Eotech seems to be lasting just fine. Has already been a year and no problems yet. Also AA are easier to fine. I perfer the Eotech view when looking through over an Aimpoint by a longshot too.
