Going to add BUIs, a FF rail, vertical grip, and a new stock to it later.

looks like a std. 16" barrel

the short commando style handguard makes it look longer

I'd assume he got it used. That isn't the stock gas block on it.

I paid $900 or so after the $50 rebate when I got mine a little while ago.

Actually they had one at a local gun store that had the front gas block like that. I think they had $980 on the tag.

Ohh shit you are right. They must've come out with a few more models since I bought mine. They only had the standard carbine, 4 rail carbine with gas block, and rifle length 4 rail with gas block when I got mine if I remember right.

That is the easy way to get a rifle into this state. No lug to grind off.

It's a 16" barrel and I bought it brand new - I love the gas block, no sight post to get in the way of the Eotech.

Got a military discount on the 557 ($495) and everything else. Took it to the local indoor range and put about 450~ rounds through it so far. I'm liking it. :bigthumb:

Would anyone know of a FF rail that extends past the gas block? I don't like the look of that much 'barrel' exposed if you know what I mean.

I've got one of the standard M4geries, great gun. I bought it over a year agot but sadly haven't put too many rounds through it.
