I couldn't wait until tomorrow, so I talked the postmaster lady into digging through and finding the package they failed to deliver today. At first I was kind of disappointed at the speed, or should I say the lack there of, with which it opened. I loosened up the blade pivot tension screw and it almost jumped out of my hand, so I adjusted it to a speed that I'm comfortable with and left it there.
I really like the size/weight construction. Very sturdy.:wiggle:

Looks good - that finish on the knife will get quite scratched though :o

Yeah, it's kinda like sandpaper right now though. White marks all over it from my dry ass skin.:hsd:

I did that once at the post office too for car parts. I practically sat on my door step waiting for these parts al day, and they got pushed to the next day. So I drove to the post office and asked them to check the trucks that were coming back in from delivery. Sure enough, my package was on one and they gave it to me at the counter. WIN!

    Nice knife.

I don't think double edged knives are legal for carry in Texas.

    It's not double edge.
Auto knives aren't legal for carry in Texas either.

The law as I read it last week seems to have the same loophole as the "loaded gun in your truck law" before they fixed it. It's ok as long as you're "traveling".

I don't intend to carry this knife every day.

I really hope it's sturdier than it's spring assisted cousin, the 530. I rarely carry it, as it's too flexible in my hand.

Send it to me and I'll write up a comparison.

What's the handle construction on the 530?

Extremely light plastic. The knife is extremely light, I love the coffin style handle and blade profile, but I use my knives pretty hard, and the amount of flex in the handle makes it a knife I only carry in dress clothes or linen lightweight clothes, and even then, I'll probably ditch it in favor of the Dalton or Strider Tarani. I should probably sell it, but I like it.

    The 3550's handle is aluminum.

I love how light the 530 is. I don't notice the weight at all.

I have the same one as my duty knife, only exception is I have the black blade finish. I love mine. Good choice!

Do they offer the plain edge in the black finish? I didn't see it.
