    Savage Arms 93R17
    .17hmr

I was looking to get a small rifle to target shoot at the range and possible take up small game hunting. I was going to get the .22 version, but I already have a .22 savage that was my grandfather's and a remington .22 semi-auto....so I decided to get the .17 for longer range.

I also picked up a cheap Bushnell 3-9x40 and the rings. The gun has the heavier barrel which I like aswell. We'll see how it shoots tomorrow.

What is the max range of the .17round...I was told the .22 becomes less accurate around 100 yards, and this would work out to longer ranges. What brand of ammo do you guys like, and as with all ammo, I'm assuming walmart is the cheapest place to pick it up?

If I get a harris bipod for this, will it just clip onto the stud on the front of the stock, or do I need an adapter?
