I bought a new knife today when I went to that speed shooting competition, the Steel Challange 2004; which was very cool by the way.

    I bought a Cold Steel Recon 1 for $60.

I also bought this for $6.

Also, I was at the Smith and Wesson booth and they had some speciality guns. They had this little .38 revolver, made of titantium, it was SICK. The barrel was only 1.5" - 2" long, but the gun was so awesome, so light, fit in my hand so nicely, I loved it. :o

i dont know, but the gun was really sweet. it weighed about as much as this knife. cold steel has these new knives that clip in your pocket, and when you pull them out they catch on the corner of your pocket and open up, i almost bought one.

I had a one of the first gen Recon 1s with a tanto point and 1/2 serrations. Those serrations are weak as hell, dont cut anything stronger than rope or they'll shear right off.

Dunno what gen my Recon 1 is, but i have a tanto blade and i've beat the shit out of it, i've found it to be pretty solid.

If you've had it more than a year or so it's probably a first gen, the only real difference is the handle was re-designed a little bit and the tanto point is different (and looks like crap IMO).
