Hey all, wanted to post that my fiancee and I picked up a car for her today. 1998 Camaro Z28 Converible, bright red with white top and white leather. It's got a 6-speed too. Not exactly a common combination, but we really dig it. It's going to be her daily driver, mostly. Will post pics as soon as I'm able.

2004 Grand Prix GTP Comp-G. Slightly modded. It's nothing crazy, but it's a very low 14 second car. We need something that can make the runs to Costco. However, since the Camaro is our second car, we don't need it to do that too. :)

Pics coming later this evening. I have them, but they're about 700K each, I need to shrink them down and make them a little more reasonable size.

Best part. Picked it up for $10,500 and has about 37K miles on it. This car was definitely someone's baby.

It is, usually an average '98 F-body 'vert goes for about 11.5-12K. However, I'd had my eye on this car for a long time... about three months, actually. Price went from 12,050 to 11,750 to 11,300 to 10,950. That's when I jumped on it, and talked the guy down to 10,500.

Patience is a real virtue when it comes to buying used cars. That, and the fact that this guy really had no idea that he had a car that was maybe 1 out of 5 or 1 out of 6 with that combo in 1998. This car is done depreciating... in about 10-15 years (which I could realistically see owning it for that long), it'll have gained in value. :bigthumb:

Not a huge 4th gen fan, but it looks nice. Got any pictures with the top up?

You ain't kidding either. I wanted a V8 so bad, but I couldn't find a 3rd gen that looked half decent with a V8 that I could afford, so I ended up with a V6 for now (but at least it is in VERY good condition all around and still has a good bit of get-up-and-go). In a year or two, I'll be selling it and buying a black 85-92 Z28.

My fiancee, who's car that is, actually owned a '91 Z28 and an '86 Z28 before this car. The '91 was a 305 TPI with 5-speed... very clean. She wasn't a big 4th gen fan either, but a 300 whp LS1 can do a lot to change your mind. :bigthumb:
