    The ATI benchmarks better than the GeForce, but I've had better luck with nvidia drivers.

    Give a budget and ask for options. It obvious you don't know wtf you're doing based upon the options you've provided here.

    Why are you buying a DX9 video card now? Get the 8600GS or something....

    they're budget cards, imo. They're not horrible. I just have an affection for XFX. They have done well by me.

    budget cards IMO as well.

    I did notice that eVGA took a Newegg Customer's Choice award for one of their 8xxx cards.

    The 7900GS is 30% faster than the 8600GS, and up to 50% in some benchmarks. The 8600GS has half the memory bandwidth of the 7900GS.

    An eVGA, XFX, or BFG 7900GS will overclock out of the box to beyond X1950 speeds.

    Just don't get a Foxconn. My Foxconn 7900GS overclocks like ass.
