So for starters, I have and will be using a copy of Windows XP Pro as the OS. I will be getting a LSI RAID Controller. I am not sure yet which I will get but it is either the MegaRAID SAS 8408E which is a PCI Express 1.0a compliant (on an x8 lane width) or the MegaRAID SAS 8208ELP which is a PCI Express x4. (I don't plan on OCing. I rarely play games and if I do it is AirWarrior 3, Command & Conquer Red Alert, and shit like that (I haven't bought any games since the late 90s).... I would like to try out the new CnC3 game though. So, on to the build....... The 5 Seagate ES drives will build the RAID while I am going to run the 1 Seagate 7200.10 drive for OS/Progs. I am doing this so I can reformat and not worry about the RAID being wiped out by Windows. I also currently have a Plextor DVD burner (IDE) and a PCI Linksys Wireless card that I will put in the system as well. So, my shit needs to be compatible with WinXP Pro (I see no issue here) as well as being able to support the LSI RAID Controller which will be running a RAID 5. I do not know what motherboard I want so give me some suggestions (prefer to have the potential to upgrade to support quad-core Intel chips) as well as critique my build.
