Getting a new gun this week, one from this list

greatly leaning towards the springfield armory xd40, cant decide between the 3in and 4 inch tho, probably going to go w/ the 4 in w/ 15 rd mags.

Are there guns on that list that would be better? I would prefer a larger caliber and no 1911 styles

I did not know that the xd40 came with 15rd mags...:hsugh:

Anyways. I have the Bi-tone 4in bbl, got it "post ban" so I only have the 10rd mags. But Im in love with the way it fits in my hand and fires

your also looking at a 9mm

    "Caliber:9MM"

Which makes it a XD9. Not an XD40:)

    They are for my AR15

What do you plan on using this handgun for? Thats gonna be the deciding factor on which caliber to get.

For right now, its just for plinking/range and after i become an officer it'll be my backup

and i dont mind paying for the ammo, im a firm believer in practicing w/ what you use

go with the 4" in 9mm, ammo is cheaper, less recoil, you'll learn good fundamentals with the 9mm, upgrade to a 40 later if you want.

the XD-40 holds 12 and the 9mm holds 15... you can get a XD-40 and get the 9mm barrel conversion down the road and have two guns in one.. you wont be sorry I love mine

happy XD-9 owner checking in. I have the 4" with the 15rd mags. Ammo is cheap if you get the WWB 100rds @ walmart for 10.96 . I've fired 1000 rds of wwb without a single hitch. Check out http://www.hs2000talk.com if you want to learn more about the XD

didnt mean to start an argument, my thinking is that any larger round has a pretty good chance of accomplishing your objective

a 9mm round is like .38xxx and a 40 cal is obviouly .40 so size and ballistically they are very similar
