Just thought I'd share; got done with a great day at the gym and wanted to post a pic :o

Before: college student that drank 6 days a week and ate everything in sight with reckless abandon. Had never seen the inside of a gym.

Hit 250lbs, (March 2008) and realized that since I was done with college, I had the rest of my life to live. I didn't want to spend that time being a fat piece of shit, so I decided to change. Stopped drinking so much, don't drink soda, try to eat a lot better in smaller meals.

Dropped to around 220, and liked what I saw. Stepped up the diet and working out, and now I look like I do. Still dropping, but now at a happy 195 lbs. My goal is eventually to get down to around 180, but I'm not in a huge hurry.

Have to credit OT'er Jimmycrackcorn for giving me inspiration and the initial guidance on how to get started living a better life.

    Thanks for looking :o

The funny thing is that I was thinking about doing that, but then realized I still have a long way to go

My goal right now is to work my way towards being able to score 300+ on the Army Physical Fitness Test. I'm not in the service and have no plans to do so right now, but it is nice knowing that if I keep myself in shape I could be on the fast track to lots of success in the military.

Right now, I'm running 2 miles in about 15 minutes. The APFT 100-point standard for my age group is 13:00, which is fucking insane. The pushups and situps aren't too far off, but trimming my 2-mile down by two minutes is going to be tough. :o

running is more mental than anything. you are physically capable of running way faster than that right now but you just dont for one reason or another.

    take control with ur brain

I think if I had to, I could do it. I'd puke everywhere afterwards, but I think I could..

  13. When you have a job at the finish line it's something to push you....

I plan on doing a 2 mile run soon full out to see what I can do. If I don't puke after I'll be running it again the next week. :o

Fuck yeah it is. I am a fiend for sweets and fast food. I could eat fucking McDonald's three meals a day seven days a week and never get sick of it. That shit is mana from heaven as far as I'm concerned.

I haven't eaten true fast food in a long long time. Today I had a southwest chicken salad with grilled chicken and no dressing from McDonald's, but I don't think that really qualifies as fast food. :hsugh:

Can you explain tempo runs to me in a little more detail? I really want to be able to hit a 13:00 2-mile just so I can say I'm in better shape than my brother who just got out of BCT/AIT :o
