I was looking for an alternative to the $500 en-el4a,[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]BL-3 cover, and extra charger that Nikon makes you buy if you want to get 8fps in the D700, and I wanted a simpler solution to using 8aa's. I came accross the Phottix Kosmo on ebay for $55 shipped. Took about a week to get here from China.

The Kosmo comes with a en-el4a battery replica, built in battery cover, and charger (that can be used to charge the battery while plugged into the grip). It took about 4 hours to charge, and so far after a few hundred shots the battery is still near full capacity.

Overall, I highly recommend it. Very nice alternative to the genuine Nikon stuff.

I can't imagine shooting without one

and the ease of turning from landscape to portrait mode is so much nicer without doing weird things to your arm/wrist.

:werd: they are heavy and inconvenient to take out of the grip and charge. I'm pretty happy so far.

I don't understand why they require this to do max 8FPS? My 40D does fine on 8fps with regular battery...

its the way they designed the cams. Its all good. Kinda like old film cams with their Power booster grips
