In looking at the features for CS2, I see that they have a "32-bit High Dynamic Range" feature that allows you to combine photos with different exposures into a single image with more dynamic range.

I have not, however, been able to find more detail on this feature, or whether you can easily do something similar in, say, PS 6.0.

It's one thing to say "well sure, just take 3 pictures with different exposures and layer them," but it seems there'd be an awful lot of erasing different bits of the images, KWIM?

Anyone have more thoughts/details on that? :x:

There are other programs that can do HDR. CS2's is okay but nothing spectacular.

I've used the HDR feature in CS2 and didn't like it. I'll stick to doing it using layers.

Yes, I very much like layers and have been trying to teach my semi-pro photographer friend how to use them to her advantage.

That said, how do you guys do it using layers? (so to speak. :mamoru: )

Layers, layers, layers... the key is knowing and understanding layers. Yes, understanding masks is great as well.

Photoshop is a great prog and there's always lots to learn and figure out as times goes on!

Okay. I'm also checking out a few programs linked to from the Wiki page. I'll mess around with this, it's interesting. :)
