I deal with a lot of negative scans... This leads to a lot of noise.

I'm looking to find a photoshop plug in to help remove it.

I've heard good things about neat image. Are there better?

    Free?

    thanks

Neat Image and Noise Ninja are two popular ones. I have had better results with Neat Image personally, but have heard good things about both. Also, you might want to also seek better scanning methods or equipment to help eliminate some of the image degradation as well.

    thanks nate!

    I'll check out both.

Right now, i'm scanning from a nikon coolscan 4000, and using digital ICE during the scan. Everything seems to be coming through Ok, but it always seems overly noisy as compared to it's film print counterpart...

How do you like using Digital Ice? I have an Epson 4870 Photo at my work, and I personally think Digital Ice takes waaaay too long to scan for minimal improvement over a regular scan.

Also, do you let your scanner software adjust the level and color settings, or just set it to standard and then do it all in photoshop?

And, to answer your question, I prefer Neat Image.
