Shot in the dark, but I know this wouldn't go well in the main forum...anyone know any good places I can send a digital picture from my computer and they'll put it on a pillow or something like that? 6 month anniversary with the gf coming up, and there's a picture that we both like much more than any other one we've taken so i figure I might as well do something special with it...thanks :)

I'm thinking how hilarious and appropriate it would be to stab one of those pillows if a couple broke up under bad terms.

Back to the thread though, yeah, I'm pretty sure you can do that at Walgreens.

if you want to invest some time and get some blisters, you could make a stencil and put it on a pillow.:dunno:

    -put the pic in photoshop
-up the contrast and switch the colors to grayscale
-print out as many copies as there are shades of gray
-tape the paper to heavy cardboard/poster board, which will become your stencils
-use an x-acto knife to cut out each layer (cut out one shade from each one of the pictures)
-do some test runs to get it just right, i always find that minimalist stencils look better than those that use too many colors, so see where you can use white space to your advantage
-then use the stencils to put the picture onto the pillow with a fabric paint, plain old acrylic might be ok.

i made a stencil on canvas for my bf's birthday this year and he LOVED it.

and you might be able to find more detailed instructions elsewhere if you're not familiar with photoshop, that's just the short version.

That was the first thought that came to my mind.

This is a bad idea, really bad.

I would be completely creeped out if a girl gave me anything like that.

    I wouldn't give one either.

How come? I decided not to do it now, maybe in a year, but just curious...seemed like an okay idea to me :dunno: Besides the obvious she's gonna rip it on the off chance we break up :hsd:

:ugh: There's nothing creepy about that, it sounds like a sweet thing to do and I'm sure the girl would appreciate it.

Yeah, I'm gonna wait till a year or 2 years, but I'm still curious as to why some people wouldn't do it at all. Is it really that bad? I know it's cheesy, but it wouldn't be the only gift :o
