A&P photography n00b

    so i own a canon s500 and i don't really know much about taking pictures.
    but i do have one question.
    how do you take pictures like this so they are still and not blurry without flash on?

    example of a picture i took...

    you need realy good lighting, to do it without flash and a faster shutter speed

    You need a super fast lens and a high iso setting. I don't think you have either with the S500.

    Get a better camera than the tiny full automatic point and should you have.

    didn't you hear not using the flash is the new hottness, just like popped up colars on pink polo shirts:rofl:

    trying shooting in sports mode. It should speed up your shutter speed.

    Well, my girlfriend has the s500 and you can set it up manually and have some pretty decent control over it. Only problem is the person taking it. If you just hold it and click its just not going to work. Set it up on something (ie tripod) and set the timer. If you do that (and provided the people are not moving too much) it will turn out somewhat clear. Don't expect great shots w/ a point and click camera.
