  1. Say an agency were to contact you asking to shoot a photo for playgirl magazine..
What would you do, and how much would you charge should you decide to take the job?

    just wondering :dunno:

is it on location or in a studio?

if its on location figure your costs for set up, getting there, gas, etc...if its in your own studio just charge what you think is fair for your normal time.

How many shots? How many outfits? What's the time frame? Is it a one time deal or do they want you to do lots of different girls? How fast do they want the pictures back? In what format? What are the rights going to be?

Charge something for everything that takes you time...hell charge for asking this question on a forum...call it "research".

I know playboy doesn't do this, they offer a finders fee to the photog- use only their people. I have friends who have shot for playgirl but I have no idea what their situation was.

  7. Imagine the basic pricing formula for a modeling photoshoot was already taken care of. And it would not be taking pictures of girls for playboy, it would be taking pictures of men in the same situation...

I am just wondering if there should be additional cost for taking "undesireable" photos and how a photographer could add this charge to their set price list without making it obvious that he doesn't want to do the job.. :o

But if there is a chance to make more money then bring on the wang!! :bigthumb: :o

ah playgirl...aahahahaha...now I understand the previous posts.

I would say no, as the second you attach a "scary dick " fee line to your invoice they won't want to work with you, I'm sure some dudes would be way into taking pictures of that shit.

Have you seen playgirl? They are like all half hard and in the grossest positions. I uh....studied it for....model poses.... :hsugh:

edit: in you initial quote just quote 20% higher than what you came up with...

  9. I can honestly say I've never seen the inside pages or any images from a playgirl magazine. But I have seen many playboy magazines and the nudes are all tasteful and not porno-grade nudity. So in my eyes if playgirl is anything like playboy then it shouldn't be that bad. And I know when the agency notices the increased rates there will be questions to be answered. :o

There are pages where guys are fucking girls in it, its the same quality work as in playboy.

Whenever you do anything nudity related make sure it is tasteful, lots of people frown upon dirty shit if its in your resume/it can be a bad mark on your resume when you are older.

  11. There is no sex in playboy but there are guys fucking girls in playgirl?? :eek3: Yeah that's definately something that is not of interest, this might call for a new price sheet.

Anyone know how to price a porno photoshoot? :eek3:

sure i'd do it, im not homophobic nor should that matter. taking shots of dudes naked in a not-for-personal-pleasure situation doesn't make you gay, it's a job...:dunno:

I get nervous when shooting a strange nude female...a random dude staring into my eyes with a hard on while he strokes it might make me uncomfortable.

I did a shoot for Playgirl...I changed my name to Mike Honcho though.

Edit: All my shots were ugly ladies (dick tucked between legs out the back)

  17. Yeah I don't know the details, all I know is that the shoot is for an agency and they will be turning over the images that they like to the magazine.

I'd say that you should probably turn down the shoot. Its quite obvious from your questions that you dont have any idea of how to be a professional about the shoot and just do the job.

Its a job, nothing more, nothing less. If you cant sit there and do the job without feeling funny, or getting excited, then you shouldnt be doing it. No amount of money to do something "uncomfortable" will ever keep you from being uncomfortable and it will show in the photography. If you cant be 100% confident behind the lens then you cannot do the job properly.

I'd say that your uneasyness about this has already answered your questions.
