some of you i'm sure saw my for sale thread where i listed the opteka 650-1300mm lens. such nice weather tonight i decided to take it outside and see how it performed taking a shot of the moon. needless to say, a cheap ass tripod + LONG lens + breezy night = a shitload of camera shake. i ended up going with a spray and pray and see what came out of it. here's the sharpest one i got, then sharpened way more than i should have to in lightroom.

i really wanted to get a shot of the moon with the 100-400 and 2x converter before i sold them but the weather didn't cooperate this weekend. but 1300mm > 2x 400mm anyways :mamoru:

its manual focus and its a fixed aperture at each focal length. no electronics in it whatsoever, so basically you have to be able to calculate your shutter speed by knowing your iso and the aperture of the lens at the given focal length. or in my case, you use photowise on your iphone to tell you the shutter speed.

Well done, Tet. I love the lighting and contrast of the surface features. :bigthumb:
