Ok so my newest assignment for my photojournalism course is a photo essay. I decided to do mine on wheelchair basketball at UW-Whitewater. I have to post at least 8 images but I can post more if I like. I'll post what I think to be my 8 strongest with captions and a few more and I'd love some C&C from everyone. I should have 1 more opportunity to shoot the team before the deadline of my assignment.

1 Joe Chambers, senior leader for the Warhawks leading the team in practice. This year the Warhawks are looking to defend their 2008-2009 Championship Season.

2 Coach Jeremy Lade looks over the morning practice. Lade an alumni of UW-Whitewater is also a member of the US National Wheelchair Team.

3 Andre Bienek practicing free throws at the end of practice. Bienek from Germany is one of the many international players represented on the Warhawks roster.

4 The team huddles up at the end of practice in an empty fieldhouse. The team prides itself on being up and practicing while everyone else sleeps.

5 Allon Dor-Onn helps pump the team up before their first home game of the 2009-2010 season versus #2 Illinois.

6 Nate Hinze fights for a rebound surround by Illinois players.

7 Coach Lade and Joe Hargrow (Bulgaden, Limerick) watch the game from the sidelines.

8 Bienek stares in disbelief after missing a shot at the buzzer as the Warhawks fall to Illinois 67-65.

I liked the wider shots better than the tighter ones.

Im missing the essay part of it.

IMO, a Photo Essay should be able to tell a story without needing captions.

All youve done here is just take pictures of guys in wheelchairs playing basketball..
