I eat a lot of pho and i am trying to do some serious cutting right now and wondered if the Pho is bad for me to eat while cutting? I already had to give up my precious Chipotle so i pray that Pho is ok. I figure there is plenty of Sodium in there but what else do i need to watch out for?

    :noes:

Crazy that you asked this. :noes: I had the same thought yesterday, and since I go for pho every Tuesday with friends I figured I should look it up. It isn't as healthy as you would think.

And really it all depends on where you get it. I have found a range of nutritional value for different phos but none seem to be good news:

    "American" style pho - http://www.truestarhealth.com/Notes/2692002.html
    Beef Pho - http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Beef-Pho/Nutrition.aspx

I've seen other sites with info ranging between those two. Hopes this helps a little.

the current diet I follow (NHE Diet) is limited to 30g of carbs daily, with a carb up as the last meal twice a week (wed and sat for me, as its the night before a squat session) where you take down 200+ g's of carbs in the meal

It won't hold you back too much assuming the rest of your diet is on par.

I used to have it quite often. Usually tell them not to add the noodles... and just put more meat and tripe.

    Vietnamese Beef pho

Just drop the noodles like I do and its 238 calories per bowl and a decent serving of protein.

Oil is good for the joints.;)
Unless you have blood pressure problems its fine.
When cutting, and my gf wants to go out... usually try and take her to eat Vientnamese because I can always order that and its just protein and fat.
