Is it worth getting components cables for my new Philips DVP642 DVD player? will I notice a difference?

I got some Acoustic Research component cables at best buy today for my DVP642. Right off the bat, I couldn't tell much of a difference from the composite cables. If you're an average viewer like me, you probably couldn't tell the difference unless you had a really nice TV.

I noticed a big diff with a progressive player and component inputs. The horizontal scan lines went away.
